Reality TV star Kim Zolciak has filed for divorce from her husband, former NFL player Kroy Biermann, after 11 years of marriage. The news was confirmed on Thursday, May 4th, by a representative for the couple.

Zolciak, 43, and Biermann, 35, met in 2010 when he appeared on the reality show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” while she was a cast member. The couple got engaged shortly after and tied the knot in November 2011. They have four children together: Kroy Jr., Kash, and twins Kaia and Kane.

The couple has had their share of ups and downs over the years, with their relationship often playing out on Zolciak’s spin-off show, “Don’t Be Tardy.” However, it appears that this time their issues may be too much to overcome.

In her divorce filing, Zolciak cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. She is seeking primary custody of their children, as well as child support and alimony from Biermann.

According to a source close to the couple, the split has been a long time coming. “Kim and Kroy have been struggling for a while now, and they just couldn’t make it work,” the source told E! News. “They both love their kids so much and will do anything to make sure they are taken care of.”

Zolciak and Biermann have not publicly commented on the divorce, but a source told People that they are “trying to keep things as amicable as possible for their children.”

The news of Zolciak’s divorce comes just days after she revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She shared the news on her Instagram account, writing, “I have had Covid and I’m still recovering. I thought I was tough enough to get through it alone but as it turns out I wasn’t.”

Zolciak is best known for her appearances on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and her spin-off show, “Don’t Be Tardy.” She has also released several pop songs and a line of skincare products.

Biermann played in the NFL for eight seasons, mostly with the Atlanta Falcons. He retired from the league in 2018 and has since focused on his family and various business ventures.
