SELENA GOMEZ AND HAILEY BIEBER SHOW NO DRAMA BY POSING FOR PHOTO: ‘PLOT TWIST’
Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber are mercilessly killing their spectators.
Gomez, who was in a highly publicized on-again, off-again relationship with Bieber’s husband Justin Bieber, appeared to put any rumors of a feud between the two to rest when they posed for a sweet photo together at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala on Saturday.
Gomez, dressed in a crisp black suit, stood cheek to cheek with Bieber, who was dressed in a chic brown cutout dress.
During an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on September 28, Bieber – who married Justin in 2018 – discussed the narrative that she “stole” Justin from Gomez, as well as the online harassment she’s faced from fans.
Bieber told host Alex Cooper that she’d kept in touch with Gomez after her marriage to Justin, and that she has no ill will toward the actress-singer.
“It’s all about respect. “It’s all love,” Bieber explained. “That’s also why I feel like, if everyone on our side knows what happened and we’re fine, and we can walk away from it with clarity and respect, then that’s fine.””
When asked if anyone ever approached Gomez to help “put an end” to the criticism she received from the singer’s fans, Bieber said she had “no expectation” that Gomez would.
“What I will say is that she has been in this industry much longer than I have, and maybe there’s something that she knows about,” Bieber said. “I would never expect someone to do something like that for me. She has no obligation to me. We owe no one anything other than respect.”
Gomez appeared to denounce the animosity directed toward Bieber in a TikTok live video shortly after Bieber’s appearance.
“Some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and it’s not fair, and no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen,” Gomez said, later referring to her kindness-focused beauty line Rare Beauty. “All I can say is that it’s incredibly ironic that I’d release something about kind words, because that’s exactly what I want.”
She continued, saying: “If you support Rare, please know that you are also representing what it stands for. That is, words matter – they truly matter.”
